Black Tie Ranch Weddings at their Best! Soft Florals, Lilies, and Sleek Bridal Look for her Sharp Cowboy
Franki and Kalon were so gracious throughout their planning; we knew their wedding would have a sophisticated feel. Along the long planning road, Franki let us know we had accidentally marked a payment as paid when it wasn’t — being that honest, showing kindness, and being so fun to work with is just a small testament to Franki’s character and heart. It’s not surprising then that her wedding gallery is one of my favorites of all time!
THE PHOTOS
I am fully obsessed with the couple's photos and the dance floor photos!
Both of these categories can be tricky for photographers.
I usually see 1-2 portraits in the gallery and think, “Yep! That’s the one! That’s what they’ll print for the wall.” But not this gallery—there are half a dozen portraits of the newlyweds I want on my own walls! Too gorgeous! The sharp black-tie cowboy took with the bride, fully embracing a classically clean and fresh bridal look with a slicked-back bun, lilies (of course), and an elegant, not over-the-top wedding gown… well, it was magic.
If you take a minute to pull up wedding venue social media feeds, there are VERY FEW photos of the dance floor. That’s because they are hard to capture aesthetically! At SCR, the dance floor is the centerpiece and super romantic and great in photos, on the other hand! BUT only if the photographer is skilled and has the right equipment to capture the people, the chandeliers, and the vibes! And it’s no small feat! Taylor Wedding Co, aka Alex, is a pro and regular at SCR, capturing some amazing wedding nights with us! She knows how to do it, and this night she was really showing off by capturing epic moments that are actually frame-worthy (again, not very common!).

“We absolutely loved so many of our vendors; it’s hard to narrow it down because everyone really played a part in making the day special:
Alex, our photographer, was incredible. She made taking photos feel fun and effortless, and we can’t recommend her enough.
Vicki, our in-house coordinator, was exactly what we needed. She kept everyone in line, everything on schedule, and made sure the whole day ran smoothly.
Mariah Moments Media was one of our favorite decisions. I was hesitant about booking a content creator at first because I didn’t want to spend a fortune on videography, but it ended up being the best choice. Seeing all the behind-the-scenes moments afterward was priceless.
BB Wellington made me feel like a princess. I’m not someone who wears a lot of makeup, and they did such a great job making me feel like a bride while still keeping everything very natural.
The Patriotic Pig was fantastic! They handled everything, and the added bussing and cake-cutting service was such a huge bonus. The food was amazing, and we got so many compliments from our guests.
Carla with Main Street Florals truly brought my Pinterest board to life. The floral arrangements were stunning, and she was so easy to work with and really took the time to understand my vision.”
The Grove Ceremony Space
This sweet couple wanted a ranch wedding to give the groom that fully Texan feel while keeping it whimsical with an outdoor ceremony surrounded by trees and florals. That was the perfect fit for our Grove ceremony space, which has a beautiful deck with live oak trees extending out to give a canopy feel, but elevated for great viewing of the ceremony and photos!

Let us have it, the good, the bad, and the hopeful! What can we do big or small to make SCR and the entire process better?SCR was truly the best, yall made everything so easy from start to finish. The entire process felt smooth and stress-free, allowing us to actually enjoy the experience instead of worrying about the details. We genuinely had the best wedding, and everything came together perfectly. Honestly, there’s nothing bad to say…just keep doing what you’re doing because it works!
What lodging was the best for you or your guests?The SCR LOG CABIN was by far the most convenient option for us; it made everything so easy and accessible throughout the stay. Most of our guests stayed in hotels in Graham and at The Wildcatter Ranch & Resort, and they all seemed to have a great experience there.
What concerned you before booking SCR? Or, what was the biggest obstacle to choosing SCR in the beginning?Honestly, there weren’t any real obstacles when it came to choosing SCR. Y’all made everything very easy, and the website had all the information we needed. The biggest obstacle was actually convincing my husband to get married in Graham 😂!
Did anything at SCR not meet your expectations day-of the wedding?No!!! Everything was great
Vintage Decor Included in the Venue Rental
SCR couples love all the vintage and cool decor that we include in our decor container! This mix-and-match of vintage silver planters, crystal vases, shabby-chic tables, and more adds a dash of uniqueness to each wedding! Having a decor container to run to and grab just the right thing to add a bit of whimsy is invaluable! Our couples tell us this all the time! Look for more decor above from SCR, and there are also a few more of our decor pieces that make this wedding just that much better!
Whimsy Garden Centerpieces and Design
Franki wanted a soft color palette with a chic look that matched her bridal look! Her tables were decorated with beautiful green, pink, and white arrangements, with fun mossy green accents as the table numbers. This look felt spring-fresh and definitely design-forward, making this black-tie wedding stand out with its whimsy!
