The Magic of November in North Texas
North Texas in November is a time of transitions, as the green starts to fade for Decembers golden tones! November weddings have mild temperatures and clear blue skies. The trees are usually still green, but the ground starts to show the golden grass of winter! This creates beautiful backdrops for the landscape portraits. For this wedding, SCR was showing off with our rolling hills and mature oak trees.

The bride was the epitome of grace and style. Her hair was a masterpiece of intricate braids and delicate flowers, creating a boho-chic look that is hard to forget! I mean check out that gorgeous color and those twists!! She wore a stunning gown with bohemian floral embroidery and a pair of chic boots that reflected her adventurous spirit. Darby looked look confident and happy — our favorite bridal look!
A Wedding for the Whole Family (Even the Furry Ones)

The dogs were well-behaved and added a touch of warmth and humor to the day. They were present at the ceremony and even partook in the wedding procession. COUPLES STORY — it’s worth it!
How Did you Meet:
I (Darby) had just moved to Texas in June 2019. I was attending random meetups to try and meet people. In early 2020 I ended up finding one called GeekMeets. They had a galentine's night out in February that I went to. I didn't know anyone before going, just showed up on west 7th street, by myself, to meet a group of women who were all strangers. I ended up clicking with one of the women (Erica, she's also one of my bridesmaids!) almost immediately. She ended up bringing some guys to crash the night, Frank was one of them. While we didn't date immediately, I ended up making friends that night and we all continued to hang out together for the next year. In that year, Frank and I were always bantering and at one point, Erica (my now best friend I also met the same night I met Frank), calls out that there's probably something there. We figured ourselves out and started dating in early 2021.
The Proposal Story:
It was basically a rom com/Hallmark movie. We always take weekend trips for our anniversary, for our 3 year anniversary this year we booked a glamping trip in Marble Falls, TX. We were on an amazing property right along the Colorado River. Saturday morning we took cover from a storm, and once it passed, left the yurt to go hiking with Lupin and Kramer (our dogs.) The river was super low, coming up to our ankles. We had some chairs so we walked down the river while the dogs ran around and played in the water. It was a kind of overcast day, but it was great for enjoying nature. As we were walking, I asked Frank if he thought the water was moving faster. He didn't think so. We set our chairs down, and as we were sitting next to the water I noticed the water was definitely getting closer to our feet. I told Frank, he realized it too, so we quickly packed up and started walking back the way we came. We got back to where we crossed, and the water was moving way too quickly and was way too high for us to cross back over. We could still see the yurt. So, we're stuck. On the wrong side of the river. Trying to find a way to cross back over. We called our AirBNB hosts, they said this happens sometimes and suggested a place upstream where it looks bad but it isn't as bad as it looks. We checked it out and weren't comfortable crossing (little did I know the ring was in Frank's backpack.) As we're trying to figure this all out, clouds are rolling in, and it's starting to rain. Frank looks at Google maps and finds a path we can walk along to at least get to a road and call an Uber to drop us off at the yurt. We're essentially at this point in the middle of someone's ranch. There's cow poop everywhere, it's raining, I'm crying, the cows are mooing.... loudly. We get to a fence and someone's house. We're too afraid to jump it and risk getting shot. And at this point.... we can now hear thunder. The rain is starting to really come down. I said "screw it, call 911." So we did, explained the situation, and waited under a random tree while getting absolutely peltzed with rain. I am now an absolutel wreck, the dogs are scared, and things are looking Not Great. Law enforcement called us back to confirm our location and confirm they are on their way. I breathe a sigh of relief. I start to tell Frank "why does something bad always happen to us when we go camping?" "all we're going to remember about this trip is this disaster" and things like that. As I'm saying this, he reaches into his backpack, takes out the ring, and proposed. The rain slowly started to dissipate, and the officer called us back to let us know he couldn't get to us, but if we could walk farther up and jump the fence without looking suspicious or dangerous, he'd meet us at the top of the path we were on. Newly engaged and excited to go back to the yurt to celebrate and hang out in the hot tub, we pack up our stuff. The rain also clears at this point and the sun comes out (minutes after us getting engaged.) On our walk to the officer there was also a FULL rainbow. Nothing says meant to be like making it thought a super stressful situation of being potentially stranded, getting engaged, and then the sky immediately celebrating with us by clearing out the rain and having the full rainbow. We made it back to the yurt, opened up some wine, hung out in the hot tub, grilled a delicious dinner, and started making phone calls.
