Rain Showers make for Extra Dance-Happy Guests! Becca + Aaron’s Wedding Day
For Becca and Aaron’s big day, the Texas clouds rolled in — so we went into Rain Plan! While many couples fear the "Rain Plan," Becca and Aaron’s wedding proved that an indoor ceremony in the SCR barn isn't just a backup—it can be magical.
SCR’s collection of twelve antique chandeliers, mixed with string lights and glass doors, creates an intimate, romantic atmosphere that feels like a cozy sanctuary against the spring rain.
RAIN PLAN at SPARROW CREEK
The "SCR Rain Plan" is designed to be completely stress-freefor our couples and their guests. Instead of the Grove or the Creekside Patio, the ceremony is held directly under the chandeliers in the central area of the barn (aka the dance floor — space that would already have been EMPTY).
The beauty of this setup is that it requires almost no extra effort; the barn’s natural vintage charm and soft lighting provide incredible photos, rain or shine.
What many brides worry about is how the ceremony space turns into a party space, and at SCR, we have mastered the "10-Minute Transition." The ceremony chairs are placed exactly where the dance floor will be for the reception.
Once Becca and Aaron shared their first kiss and headed out for some photos, the transition begings!
The ceremony chairs are simply moved to their designated guest tables in the side wings of the barn.
Because the distance is so short, the entire process takes about 10 minutes, meaning by the time guests have grabbed a drink, the dance floor is wide open and ready for the grand entrance.
RECEPTION - ALL ABOUT THE DANCE FLOOR
Becca and Aaron’s day was a perfect reminder that the weather is just a backdrop to the real story. Their guests didn't have to worry about damp grass or grey skies; instead, they were tucked away in a beautiful space with a front-row seat to the ceremony.
By the time the music started, the "ceremony room" had seamlessly become a high-energy dance floor. At Sparrow Creek Ranch, we pride ourselves on being ready for anything, ensuring that a little April rain only adds to the magic of the day.
