Wildflower Summer Wedding in North Texas - Sparrow Creek Ranch Venue
July wedding at SCR
Payton and Frederick are each other’s “first and only loves” and made their wedding day a true reflection of their hearts for one another. They chose a smaller wedding with 100 guests, no alcohol, and a focus on family and friend time throughout the evening.
When planning a summer celebration at Sparrow Creek Ranch, the key to transforming the Texas heat into a joyful day is proactive hospitality! Lean in and think about the little things!
By greeting guests with chilled beverages—such as lemonade, iced tea, or craft beer—the moment they step onto the property, you immediately shift the narrative from enduring the weather to enjoying a curated oasis.
This small, thoughtful touch sets a joyful tone right out of the gate, ensuring your loved ones feel pampered and cool from the very first minute, helping neutralize potential heat-related fatigue and keeping the focus squarely on the celebration.
SUMMER WEDDING TIMELINE
To capture the best lighting while maximizing your time during the reception, coordinate with your photographer to front-load your portrait sessions! Everything you can get taken care of before the ceremony, DO IT! Scheduling your ceremony to begin no more than 1.5 hours before sunset allows you to exchange vows during the magical golden hour while the temperature begins its evening dip. By completing most of your couple, family, and wedding party portraits before the ceremony starts, you clear the path for a relaxed post-ceremony transition. This timeline not only ensures you look your best in the softest light but also guarantees that your post-ceremony hour is spent socializing and dancing rather than spending most of your time behind a camera lens.
This ensures you have time for the moments below!
Oh, the moments these two had together and captured by the talented Little Bear Photography! It’s always fun to see how each couple finds their own unique spots and tones for their photos and details captured throughout the day. Payton’s hair is UNREAL, we must say!
Indoor Ceremony - Summer Wedding
Payton got married inside at SCR for the full-on romantic vibes, then enjoyed family photos and time on the patios. For summer weddings, couples can choose to get married Inside at SCR or on the Creekside Patio (fully shaded). The indoor ceremony is unique, and your gallery will be one you love and that stands out from everyone else’s! The chandeliers and string lights inside make this a truly romantic “vibes” all the way through!
“I loved the view from the patio. I have grown up being outdoors and love to hunt. I always feel close to the Lord when I am outside, surrounded by trees and greenery. Standing on the Creekside Patio feels like being in the woods. It felt like home.” - BRIDE

BRIDE’S REVIEW
"First and foremost—THANK YOU! As someone who absolutely loves organization(and who’s been planning all of this while juggling college and two jobs), this spreadsheet has truly been a lifesaver. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it!"
"As an OCD individual wedding planning at SCR...was A DREAM! Kalli is absolutely amazing and will answer any question you have every step of the way. She provides an excel spreadsheet that covers the majority of your basic planning questions tailored specific for the venue. DECOR IS INCLUDED (and gorgeous). There is a whole barn full of western/vintage decor that you are free to use. This saves so much time and money! If you want an easy wedding planning experience and a beautiful backdrop to marry the love of your life (that costs fractions of what it would at other venues), Sparrow Creek is the place to go! I can't recommend it enough! Check out the website, she is very straightforward about all the information and prices (another pro)."
